CALLING ALL ED-TECH ENTREPRENEURS!
GSV Ventures is excited to announce the 2nd annual GSV Cup where entrepreneurs will compete for 1 million in cash and Google Cloud credits! The GSV Cup, powered by Google Cloud, Holon IQ, HubSpot for Startups, and GSV Ventures, brings together global pre-seed and seed stage EdTech entrepreneurs tackling education’s most pressing issues.
This year’s application for the GSV Cup opens March 1st and will stay open until midnight PST on March 31st. Visit asugsvsummit.com/gsv-cup to apply and for additional information.
In order to be eligible, entrepreneurs must have a business in the digital learning space, from “Pre-K to Grey.” The competition is open to both U.S. based and international companies. Startups who are pre-seed or seed stage are eligible to apply.
Selected semi-finalists will all receive a complimentary ticket to the Summit for either in-person or virtual and have the chance to compete for $550,000 in cash and $450,000 in Google Cloud credits.
Last year’s competition brought over 550 entrepreneurs to apply to present at the 2020 ASU+GSV Summit and compete for the $250,000 in cash and $150,000 in Google Cloud credits. Two hundred semi-finalists were chosen representing over 22 countries across Asia, Africa, Europe, Australia, North America, and South America.
At the 2020 ASU+GSV Virtual Summit, EdTech entrepreneurs battled it out for first, second, and third place with live audience voting.
First place went to Abwaab, a smart online learning platform that allows secondary schools students in MENA to learn at their own pace, test themselves and track their progress anytime and anywhere.
Second place went to Prepmedians, prep comedians that empowers students to succeed academically by engaging them on the right channel through highly effective sketch comedy and pop music videos.
Third place went to Ringbeller, a provider of video lessons that teach kids creativity & kindness.
Additional finalists included BeeReaders, Cybint, Hellosaurus, Inspirit, Lexplore, Mindprint Learning, and Stride Funding.
This year, we remain supported by our excellent Summit community for this competition. Leading global venture capital firms and strategic partners in the education and talent space will be judging this year’s competition.
The 2021 ASU+GSV Summit will be held August 9–11, 2021, both in San Diego, CA and virtually. All semi-finalists will have the opportunity to pitch virtually or in-person.
We look forward to meeting this year’s cohort of GSV Cup EdTech entrepreneurs!
